This is Taco. He is a 10 month old shepherd/chow mix. He is a very loveable dog and loves to give kisses. He is 45 lbs right now but likes to be a lap dog. He enjoys playing with other dogs and loves to run. Taco has a Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) / Progressive Retinal Degeneration (PRD) PRA is a family of diseases involving the gradual deterioration of the retina. In the early stages of the disease, an affected dog becomes night blind and cannot see well in dim lighting. As the disease progresses, daytime vision also fails. Provided that the affected dog's environment remains constant, an affected dog can adapt quite well to this handicap. Taco can see well right now and we are looking for his forever home so he can get adjusted before going blind. He will be able to leads a normal life and would be a wonderful addition to a family with kids, as he loves kids.
